Disclaimer

Important information about the limitations of our service and data.

Last updated: 19 February 2026

TradieVerify Australia is an independent, unofficial platform. We are not a government agency, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any Australian state, territory, or federal government body. The information on this website is provided for general informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for hiring decisions.

Section 1

General disclaimer

Information provided "as is"

The content on TradieVerify Australia (tradieverify.com.au), including tradesperson licence data, hiring guides, glossary entries, and all other materials, is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of any information on this website.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this website constitutes legal, financial, building, or professional advice. Our hiring guides, glossary, and educational content are for general informational purposes only. You should always seek independent professional advice before making decisions about building work, trade contracts, or hiring tradespersons.

Section 2

Data accuracy and limitations

Source of data

All tradesperson licence data displayed on TradieVerify is sourced from publicly available government registers maintained by Australian state and territory licensing bodies, including QBCC, VBA, NSW Fair Trading, DEMIRS, CBS, CBOS, NT Building Advisory, and Access Canberra. We access this data through official open data portals and public APIs.

No guarantee of accuracy or completeness

While we make every reasonable effort to keep our data current, we cannot and do not guarantee that the information displayed on TradieVerify is accurate, complete, or up to date at any given time. Licence data may be affected by:

  • Timing differences — there may be a delay between changes in a government register and those changes being reflected on TradieVerify
  • Data format variations — different states use different data structures, and our normalisation process may occasionally produce inconsistencies
  • Source data errors — errors in the original government data will be reflected on our platform
  • Incomplete coverage — some licence types, conditions, or disciplinary actions may not be available through public data sources

Always verify with the official register

You should always confirm licence details directly with the relevant state or territory licensing authority before entering into any contract, making payment, or allowing work to commence. Each tradesperson profile on TradieVerify includes a link to the official government register for independent verification.

Section 3

No government affiliation

TradieVerify Australia is a privately operated, independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any of the following government bodies or any other Australian government agency:

Queensland: QBCC
Victoria: VBA
New South Wales: NSW Fair Trading
Western Australia: DEMIRS
South Australia: CBS
Tasmania: CBOS
Northern Territory: NT Building Advisory
ACT: Access Canberra

Any use of government body names, logos, or data references is solely for the purpose of identifying the source of publicly available licence information. Visit our About page for more details on our data sources.

Section 4

Limitation of liability

Exclusion of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), TradieVerify Australia and its operators shall not be liable for any:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use this website
  • Losses resulting from reliance on licence data displayed on our platform, including hiring decisions, contract disputes, or insurance claims
  • Damages arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information on our website, whether caused by errors in source data or our processing
  • Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities in connection with use of this website

Consumer law rights preserved

Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Section 5

Your responsibility when hiring

TradieVerify is a starting point for due diligence, not a substitute for it. When hiring a tradesperson in Australia, you are responsible for:

  • Verifying licence status directly with the relevant state or territory authority before signing any contract
  • Confirming insurance coverage — including public liability and, where required, home warranty insurance
  • Obtaining written quotes and contracts that clearly outline the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms
  • Checking references and reviewing past work where possible
  • Understanding your state's regulations — licensing requirements vary between states and territories

For detailed guidance on hiring tradespersons in your state, see our hiring guides.

Section 6

Third-party links and content

TradieVerify contains links to external websites, including official government licensing registers, industry bodies, and other third-party resources. These links are provided for your convenience and to help you verify information independently. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability of any external website. Accessing third-party websites is entirely at your own risk.

Section 7

Tradesperson data and public records

Public register data

Tradesperson licence information displayed on TradieVerify is sourced from publicly available government registers. This data is made available by state and territory governments for the express purpose of allowing the public to verify tradesperson credentials. We do not collect personal information directly from individual tradespersons.

Data correction requests

If you are a tradesperson and believe that information displayed about you on TradieVerify is incorrect, please contact us. We will investigate and, where appropriate, update our records. Note that corrections to the underlying licence data must be made through your state or territory licensing authority, as we mirror their public records.

Section 8

Governing law

This disclaimer is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from or relating to this disclaimer or your use of TradieVerify shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Section 9

Changes to this disclaimer

We reserve the right to update this disclaimer at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of TradieVerify after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated disclaimer.
